It may not be in your budget to buy to a new car right now. However, there is no reason why you can’t make an effort to create the illusion that the vehicle you drive right now is like new. It can be fun to do so and you don’t have to spend lots of money to make it happen.

Wash your vehicle on a regular basis to keep it looking like new. If the paint on your vehicle has blemishes or it is starting to fade you may want to get a fine rubbing compound. This can be buffed on with lots of water to take out any faded paint or small scratches off of the surface.

You also want to wax it a couple of times a year. It is a good idea to put a couple of coats on as soon as you get done with the rubbing compound. You want to use a good quality wax. Make sure you follow the instructions for how to use it and that you don’t leave any remaining residue behind from it. Most wax products aren’t to be applied in direct sunlight or on a hot surface. Apply it to a clean vehicle in your garage or on a cool day.

If your vehicle has chrome or aluminum wheels there will be a variety of different polishing products you can use. They will brighten them up and that definitely helps to make your car look like new. If you have a vehicle with plastic headlight lenses that are dull or yellowish you can buff them out. Use toothpaste that has a high level of fluoride in it. This will give it a clear plastic look that a new vehicle has.

If your vehicle has rubber molding or trim, you can wipe these areas down with petroleum jelly. That will remove any gray tarnished appearance that it may have developed over time. Replace any emblems or trim that may be missing from the outside of the vehicle. With those in place your vehicle can look new again.

A clean interior is important too so that you can make your car look like new. Washing down the doors and the dash with a cleaner will help them to shine like they did when it was new. Vacuum out the vehicle and clean up the floor mats. You can replace them if they are old and dingy. You can also put on seat covers to help give the interior of your vehicle a new look.

Keep your windows clean too so that it will look new. You can keep wipes on hand to get rid of smudges on a regular basis. Use a sun visor too so that your dash won’t fade or crack. The addition of a great smelling freshener can give your vehicle the smell of a new vehicle too.

Keep your vehicle clutter free from trash and unnecessary items. A trash bag in the vehicle makes it very simple to stay organized. You can also add organizers to the back of the seats for kids to store items that they frequently use in the vehicle.

When your car looks like new, you will be proud to drive it. You won’t mind the fact that it is a bit older. You will also be more inclined to take care of it properly when it looks nice. With the economy being in a crunch, it is important to cut expenses where we can. Yet you still want to drive a nice looking vehicle and now you have the means of making it happen.
