It's what would happen if you did't listen to your friends. I and the wife planned to watch The American and some friends of us said 'don't' because it's not worth it. We insisted on seeing it in the theater last night and we ended up disappointed.
Yeah I have watched the movie and I don't like it either. I have seen Inception and Salt and I expected that The American is at least as intriguing as them.
I have to admit that I expected that also, especially because it starts George Clooney. But the movie is just plain boring, and way too far behind Inception and Salt.
I am similar to you. Actually I decided to watch the movie for the reason also. Clooney did great jobs on Ocean Eleven and Ocean Twelve, and I think it was as good as both movies.
