Default Covering top of car against snow or frost?

If you don't have a garage do you cover your car or at least the windshield against the snow? I suppose it's a good idea but I can't be bothered removing the covering and putting it away after brushing the snow off it.

Even though we have a garage, I park in the driveway and don't put a cover on my car. It's just too much of a hassle when I'm trying to get the kids in the car.

I never have done, and every time I come out in the morning and my car is covered in hard ice, I regret it. I just hate the work, clearing it off. But I too know I wouldn't look after a cover properly.

I don't cover my windshield. By the time you take the cover off and get it put up you could have the windshield scraped and clear. Of course, if the frost or ice isn't too bad, I take the easy way out and warm the car with the defrosters on and let that do the work for me.

The problem I always saw with covers is that if the windshield is wet and then the temperature drops, wouldn't the cover freeze on and create a potential issue>
