Default Enterprise rant!

I finally got my truck back after 10 days in a rental from Enterprise after another driver backed into me. I dropped off the rental with the dealership and told Enterprise would charge the card I left on file with them but I would have to call them to get a total. When I called, first I was told I had a zero balance. Then they called me back to tell me they read their paperwork wrong and I owed $206.

I checked my bank and they charged my card $261! When I called I was told that I was charged $23 per day instead of the $19.99 that was on my contract and I was charged $3.70 per gallon to fill it up when it is on my contract that it would be $3.09. Now I have to spend my day off dealing with this. I am taking the contract in and they better make it right.

That really stinks, FB. I hope they make it right for you, because it's wrong for places like that to get by with charging incorrectly. Good thing you have paperwork to prove your price!

Wow, I bet they do it all the time. They figure most people won't look at the details or won't care if it's not that much more. It would irritate me to no end. Go in and fight it out!

A contract is a contract. If they don't honor the signed contract they have with you, you can take them to court. A mistake is a mistake....but it seems so crazy that they got it all wrong. How many people wouldn't even notice a few dollars difference, or not look at the bill line by line?

Sorry to hear that. That is not really a good business practice. I hope they didn't do it on purpose. I would hate it to be wasting time in such a situation.

The only issues I know of Enterprise are reading contacts incorrectly, which it sounds like here. Make sure you have no loopholes in your contract either, like X mileage per Y days or you get fined "extra".

I went in and they fixed it. Sort of. Supposedly they could not get my card to take the refund so she had to wait for the manager to come in and do it today. If I don't see the refund on my bank account by tomorrow morning I will be livid. I have already sent an email to the corporate offices telling them what I think of their customer "service".
