Default Friends and Cell Phone Usage

I don't know how people are so uncaring. I went to diner with my friend in her car, and wouldn't you know she received a call on her cell and answered it. I couldn't believe she did that when not 20 minutes before we had been talking about how dangerous it was for people to use cells and drive. I was speechless, but chickened out and didn't tell her to drop the call.

Do you call people's attention when they are talking on the phone while you are in the car? I do it with my husband, but not other people.

No I probably would not have said anything. Later I might have joked about it ( I know, passive aggressive) but I'm not one for confrontation. If a friend is driving really dangerously fast or scaring me I will speak up though.

I understand what you are saying though Road_Runner. People are fast to criticize the people that talk on the phone while driving, but they think they can do it safely.

The only time I would answer is if I had hands free talking, otherwise its just stupid to jeopardize the safety of both yourself and passengers for a phone call. Personally I have no issues reaching over and turning someones phone off but that could just be me too.

I don't like it when I, the live person and having a conversation with someone and they allow a phone call to take priority, let alone if the person does it while driving. Some calls are important, but if that's the case, pull over and deal with it.

I am totally against talking on the cellphone when driving, but if I were in your situation, I guess I would just say nothing either. Maybe I would even hold the cellphone for her.

I am totally against it also. Some people maybe aware of the danger of receiving a call when driving, they just think that it would be the first and the last time they do it.
