I am not one that really socializes with my neighbors, I live in a good area but I just do not have the time to go chat things up a great deal. Today I get a knock at my door (yes I work from home) and a nice chap with a Scottish accent goes "Your neighbor needs me to cut this here tree down, would you mind moving your car back a tad just in case some branches fly off".

I was so entertained I stayed out to watch the tree come down, no idea, but its fun to watch a tree just flop down. Now of course the entertance into my driveway looks odd since the tree did provide a ton of shade, but hey, it did not land on my car so I am okay with that.

It's nice that they had the common courtesy to tell you beforehand what was going on. Some people just don't care and do things like that whether it's an inconvenience to you or not.

Very nice. We have a neighbor who is absolutely super. I hurt my knee and had to have surgery so I've been out of the lawn mowing this year. My wife has been trying to keep up but it is really hard for her. One of my neighbors came over and asked if I would mind if he helped mow our lawn since he had a riding lawn mower. "MIND??"???" I would love it!!!!! He has been doing the mowing ever since. I have good neighbors!

Nice story. It shows how easy it is to do small kind things for each other and create a more pleasant environment. I have lived in places where parking was competitive and everyone was out for themselves to get a space. It's much easier to be a good neighbor when there is nothing to fight over

Most in the close neighbor area here at least four homes have all discussed keeping things trim during the months ahead before the winter colds, frost sets in and more trees fall. Its been a crazy year thats for sure.

I agree-very nice that they did this. I have to deal with a tree that is overhanging a neighbour's yard soon and I'm not sure how I'll approach it. I do know though, that I shall consult him first.
