Insurance Is A Rip Off~
I admit, my wife had a major car accident last year while she was driving our son's Suburban. It was totaled and she was badly hurt. The guys in the other truck were hurt too and sued our insurance company for the minor injuries they had-they won. Then in September I had a fender bender in our vehicle which they had to fix. But they hiked our insurance up to $300 A MONTH for one vehicle!!! I'm older and my wife is middle aged. I also know our ages are against us but we don't even work any more and the vehicle sits in the driveway more than we drive it!!! It's a shame. We have found another insurance but it's still over $200 a month for us to insure our vehicle. We had never had an accident until last year and we have had the insurance for years. I think it stinks and I am horrified at the amount we still have to pay. Don't you think it's kind of excessive?

I think its insane for that and also for the amount of trees these people kill sending me notices in the mail that I do not want. I have had three this week from places that want me as a client for insane rates. I am over the 25 mark, did the drivers course, had 1 ticket in my life and one accident under my belt (not my fault).

Ouch! That is a lot of money for car insurance. Then again you said they paid out a lot of money for your wife's accident. And they were sued too, so maybe they are trying to recover it!

I think you should change insurance companies. Even if you have been with them for ages, don't bother being loyal to them cos they're not being loyal to you. You've lost any 'no-claim' bonuses anyways, so you're just another policy number in the system to them.

We went ahead and changed but it's still over $200 a month. I am still out there looking for a decent company that can give us better rates. It's a shame they are so greedy. All of those years I paid on time and stayed with them, I'm sure they have their money from me even if they did have to pay a couple of claims-so *stick tongue out at insurance company logo*insurance company-take that!

The sad thing is with the 2 accidents showing on your report now, it is going to be hard to find a cheap insurance. Accidents only stay on your report for some many years though, 3 maybe? I don't remember. Hopefully, by then you can have your rates dropped.

I sure hope so. We are usually careful and haven't EVER had claims this big. But one accident and our whole record is trashed. I don't think I even want to drive anymore which is unrealistic since I have no one who will do it for me.

I would try to sit down and dedicate a full day to calling every major insurance company you can find, and then all the other ones. There has to be something out there, and if they really mean an accident is an accident, you will find someone.
