Default Made me laugh

I was in the hallway outside of the kids class and heard someone say that their oil pressure light had come on and that that meant they needed an oil change. Don't they know that that light means they have very little oil? It does not signal the need for an oil change but a need for oil!

Somebody should really teach kids, what the car lights are actually for, and how to take care of their car! Most cars have the manuel, inside the glovebox, they probably do not even know it is there!

Some people are just not educated about what a car does and what those flashy lights really mean. We had to know this for our drivers ed class years ago and I will never forget the girl who ended up putting diesel in the schools car when the teacher was in the store paying for gas.

Wow, that's hilarious but I guess the teacher should have been very clear on the instructions. We never had car maintenance as a part of driver's ed but my dad was adamant that if my sister and I have cars, we learn how to take care of them.

It would be kind of cool, though if a light DID come one when you need an oil change, don't you think? It's probably only a matter of time until that option is available!

Oh my, diesel in the schools car! That is terrible. I hope that she didn't have to pay for the damage it did to the cars engine. I think it is silly not to know basic maintenance of a car like how to check your oil and change a tire.

I think it would be a good idea for a trusted auto authority (say, AAA maybe?) to hold such a class for those who think that the oil light signals the need for an oil change, and all the other things people just aren't sure of. Someone said their father taught them some general maintenance tips, and that's great. That's something every father (or big brother) should do.

...And then there's the one about the lady who's blinker quit working, and she wasn't sure where to put in blinker fluid...

I agree that somebody needs to be teaching people who drive about how to maintain a car in a safe and smart manner. I think so many people are ignorant about things they should not be (even me on occasion).

My friends car tells her when she needs an oil change. She just has to program the date she changed it and the miles on the vehicle at the time. It's cool!

I wonder how much money is spent each year for people doing silly things like this? Even the ones that might not totally damage a vehicle, even small time it has to be a money pincher.
