It seems like every time I get in the car lately at least one of the roads I need to travel down is under construction. I live in a rather large town and for about 2 weeks they had every major road blocked off in order to do resurfacing. I spent 20 minutes one day trying to cross a road to get to the doctors office less then a 1/8 of a mile away. They had the crossroad completely closed so I had to go 5 miles down to cross and then come 5 miles back. How annoying! Anybody else dealing with a lot of construction this summer?
I can't see the logic of closing an entire area that way. I haven't had too much trouble with local roadworks this summer, but the flip side of that is I have to avoid the streets in need of repair for fear of damaging my car!
What I hate is when they are resurfacing and you get tar and pebbles all over your car. I've had to take tar remover more than once to some stubborn areas. I try to avoid these areas if at all possible.
I hate when they use that pea gravel that is loose and ends up popping up and cracking the windshield. I remember loaning my mom my 2 week old car and she had this happen. I ended up with a terrible crack in my windshield and I had to have it replaced.
