Default Toys in the Car

Do you let your kids have toys in the car? Do you choose toys that don't make noises, and that won't distract you when you are driving?

We always had that rule yes. Books were fine, toys had to be quite, no noise or flashing lights and there couldn't be any throwing or general high jinx.

My kids do bring toys in the car. Usually there are tons of books, notebooks, pens and markers. I also let them bring their DSi.

Toys are definitely always in the car. I hadn't really considered that they might be distracting, so I'm glad it's never happened. I can see how certain toys might be too much to have behind your ear while trying to concentrate!

I am OK with toys in the car. We have had the rule of not allowing food in the car, so I can't say no for toys, otherwise they would think I was Fidel Castro.

No we do not. We also do not allow anyone under 25 have drinks in the car. The only people who have drinks are the adults, otherwise it tends to lead to random spills. I know if I spill something I will clean it, I can not say the same for other people.

My little brother brought a toy in the car yesterday when we went to the park and it was SO annoying!! My mom told him to quit playing with it until we got home.

We are the same way, but also limit the toys. I only have one or two in my truck, a little more in the wife's.

I love letting them have toys in the car, but I don't really like having anything that's too loud because it distracts me while I'm driving. Plus, it would probably drive me a bit crazy.
