Help! I left a brand new sealed car battery on my rear seat and because it was a hot day it leaked and now the acid ate a big hole in the seat. I was told I have to cut it out or the acid will keep eating away at the fabric... What do I do?
Take the rear seat out (should be bolted in 4 places). Spray it with a high pressure hose to get any reamining acid out and then take to an auto-trimmers to get repaired or alternatively you can get some seat covers and no one will be the wiser.
Sounds like a good plan to me. Spray it, put baking soda on it to neutralize any acid that's left (iin paste form with a stick-not a finger) and let it set a minute or two-spray again and then let dry. In the meantime look for some seat covers with some cool graphics on them. It's cheaper than having them recovered.
