Default Car Colors

I always thought that black was the favorite of car colors, but it seems to me that most of the newer model cars are silver. I was just wondering - when new models come out, how many different colors are usually available?

I actually don't like silver too much. It just seems too plain for me. I'm not sure how many colors there are for basic cars. I'd guess 10 or so. I love black cars. Unfortunately, I have a white one right now, but when I can, I'll get a black one probably.

Most of the time, it seems the basic colors are black, navy, white, silver, and red. Some also offer maroon, brown, and green, but they seem to be fewer, in my experience.

I think MaximumSpeed's list is pretty good. Brown seems to be a color that has really faded in popularity. I'm a little surprised green isn't more common, I think some cars look decent in green. Another color I see here and there is yellow. Personally I think this really depends on the car. I think some cars look great in silver, I can see why it's a popular color for those models.

I see a ton of white cars. They are all over the place. The sporty cars still seem to be red, which simply draws the eyes of the police to them.

Black, red, silver, white, and blue - that is the main colors that I see out there. I'm a fan of yellow and I don't usually see too many yellow cars on the lots.

It is true that most of the time, these are the basic colors. However, I tend to prefer black or navy and nothing close to silver. All the same, isn't it possible to get the colors customized?

Mine is actually a silver gray mix and it looks just fine, but I do hear you on it. Maybe its the "new black" as far as car makers are thinking when they are coming off the line.

I am not a huge fan of silver myself. The vehicle I have now is pewter, which they might as well say is gold. I would love a dark blue car, but it wasn't in the cards last time around.

I think brown is a nice color for a car. I wonder why they don't make too many? White is another that I see a lot of, but that's too plain for me.
