Default Car covers

Does one of those canvas car covers work? Are they practical in the winter with snow? I figure it is cheaper than building a garage.

If you are regularly driving the car, a car cover is relatively pointless. If it snows it or ices over it will be difficult to remove.

We are about to find out this coming weekend, a friend is storing his truck here while he is overseas (military) and that is what he purchased. It should be delivered on Friday if we are lucky to not have any delays with the postal mail.

They're okay, as long as you get the "breathable" kind. Otherwise, moisture and condensation will stay trapped under the cover and on your car, and could cause problems, such as rust, mold and mildew. If you do use a cover, take it off every week or so to give the cover (and the car) a chance to dry out.

Car covers do work great. I have a neighbor with a vintage car that he keeps it covered all the time even though he does drive it several days a week. It's in great condition and it protects from all the dirt and dust that can be in the air, especially when it rains.

I have never used a car cover, so I am not sure how well they work. My grandma bought this metal car shelter, and it works great. It was not real expensive, either, and it beats taking a cover on and off.

Thanks for the tip about "breathable" covers. I was not aware that such a cover as that was available, so I think I will look into them.

I have never used one either but I do have 2 garages. I would think they would be a pain putting them on and taking them off. Aren't they heavy when they are covered with snow?
