Do you have to have your vehicle inspected every year? I think in some states you don't have to have a yearly inspection. How would they know if they vehicle is safe to be on the road?

I have a business car and it's mandatory in our state to undergo car inspection every year. It's hard to get a sticker if the condition of your car is not good so I really spend money for maintenance and general cleaning of my car.
No I don't have to have it inspected every year in MI! I guess the theory here is most of the roads aren't safe to drive on so why worry about the cars.
We have the worst roads in the US and we pay so much in taxes that are supposed to go to repairs. I'm not sure where that money is going.
We have terrible roads here in NY too. I think they are bad all around. I wish they would fix them so you didn't feel like you were driving into a big hole with every pothole hit.
We don't have inspections. There really aren't that many problems with cars that malfunction and cause accidents. What usually causes accidents where we live is the nut behind the wheel.
I concur Weezer! I haven't heard of an accident occurring here because of a malfunction unless it something they recalled or whatever.
Unless you drive a Toyota LOL? I second Weezer also. Most accidents on the road are usually because of human errors. That's why I really hate to see someone answering a phone call while driving.
I agree that most are caused by poor drivers or crazy people driving too fast on bad roads! I wish I didn't have to have my car inspected every year. It's a pain in the butt.
I can imagine it would be! Is it expensive? I pay $118 per year just to tag my car properly not to mention the $25 I just got bent over for on my actual drivers license! I can't even imagine having to pay anymore than I already do to have my car inspected.
Tag your car? What is that about? We have insurance and inspection and that is it per year. Of course we also have to renew our drivers license but that isn't every year.
