Default Daughter wants a Mustang

All she is talking about lately is that she wants a 96 Yellow Mustang (1996 was the year she was born). She wants me to find this and buy it for her for her 16th birthday. Hey a girl can dream right?

I would say that it would be a very good way for her to learn lots if she was to find one, save up, and buy her own when she's 21.....

Unless it was a classic I doubt I would get a car the year I was born. Now I would never mind a fastback from the late 60's but nothing from the year I was born. I think it was a bad year.

That's a pretty cool dream on her part. Maybe you could at least find her a remote controlled miniature version. I'm sure she'd love it.

Yeah I'm sure she wouldn't love the remote control version... cute thought though! I keep telling her that she better get a great job when she is 16, play sports, and keep her grades up and by the time she is 21 she might be able to have a down payment.

That seems like more of a college graduation present, not a 16th birthday present. Maybe you could use it as an incentive for graduating college?

Heck, its more than I ever got for graduating college. I think it's a great idea for her to earn money to buy it herself. I could make the deal with her, I'll match what she saves throughout college.

Why not buy it for her? To be honest with you bro, a 1996 Mustang is not going to cost you that much. You're talking somewhere less than 10k, perhaps even around 5k. Buy it!

I'm a girl for starters... No way! $5K for a 16th birthday.... I mean it's not a ton of money but more than I'm spending on her 16th birthday!
