In Australia a car cannot be registered without an immobilizer system and with the technology of modern cars I feel an alarm is unnecessary. I mean, how many times do you hear a car alarm go off and think- someone must've bumped into it or a noisy truck driving past must've set it off!

Anyway, I have chosen not to get one installed as I think they're kind of obsolete...

They usually get ignored here in the states. I do not tend to have one, except for a panic button.
