I think you might want to keep an eye out for a replacement. Right now we have had the car since 07 and I am thankful for it. While it has been dinged up a tag (grocery store hit and run, an accident at a stop light) its still running smooth. We have replaced the serpentine belt twice but otherwise its good to go.

I would rather fix what is wrong because it is paid off. I don't want to get into something with a payment again, at least not yet. It still has really low mileage for it's age and it does still run really well. I would rather put $400 or so in it than get a new one.

I agree - I would go as long as possible without having to pay another car note. I know there are some people who like to trade in their cars every few years, but I ride mine until the wheels fall off!
