Default Funding your next purchase

How would you fund the purchase of your next car? Would you part exchange, take out a loan or pay the full amount in cash?

I would definately do some exchange, but I don't think my car would cover much of it. I do think I'd have to make many payments on it.

I would take part of what I have in savings, and take what I get from selling the car that I'm replacing., and pay cash. I'm not going to finance my next vehicle if I can help it.

I'm with Junker on this. I have made a habit of resisting finance as I enjoy my rides better when they are fully paid for. Not that I couldn't be tempted to borrow cash if something real special came along.

Default Purchase Car

I have actually used all options. When I had the money I paid for it fully, but I could only afford that one time. I have traded in 3 cars and it also worked and I have also leased.

My recomendation is try to take the least of a loan as you can and explore best car options and perhaps some car lease deals.

If I ever needed to replace my car, I would trade in the current car to help funding the new car. I have no idea how to cover the rest cost though.

I never feel comfortable and confident to take any loan, so I would rather save up for the car. It may take forever to gather enough money to purchase the car, but I wouldn't need it if I could afford it.

I just got a really great truck for 3 grand. It only has about 80k on it. With prices coming down I would save up and buy it out right.

I usually buy used, mostly Jeeps. When I did buy it was with a car loan from the credit union. That was years ago. With today's economy, I'd try all options before doing that.

I am not even thinking about another one just yet. Right now we are working on getting a few other things together so I am thinking the next one might end up being at least a good five years off. What about places like Carmax though?
