Default Good way to mess up a truck

Have you ever seen those pick up trucks jacked up on huge tires driving around? What is that all about? Seems like a good way to mess up a truck if you ask me.

Ah, monster trucks: that started out as an advertising gimick for a 4x4 parts and accessories shop.

It looks cool, it might give greater clearance under the vehicle.... it also makes it liable to tipping over more easily, poor handling in corners, and subject to mechanical issues you'd not experience otherwise. While I can 'justify' a 3-4" lift in some trucks and SUV's, in most cases it's about being cool and liking the look: it sure doesn't drive very well.

Its a hobby for some people. A few buddys I knew back in my school years would mod their trucks to go muggin (after a nice tailgating party). Its a hobby for some, for others its a lifestyle or even work. Have you see the contests some take part in?

We have a lot of those where I live. I find them very annoying. I can't help but wonder if they can see a small sudan if one is driving next to them. It scares me to be on the road next to them because most of the people who do that with their car tend to show off and drive faster than they need to. I can't imagine what the cost of gas must be for those people. Seems like a waste of money to me.

A waste of money and yeah, a good way to mess up a truck or any vehicle. Lifting is a bad idea because it can really tear up the suspension. Besides that, it voids any warranty that person might have had. I, personally, don't like the way it looks. But I bet they're fun to drive!
