So I got gas with my PayPal card and then ran some other errands. When I got home I went to transfer the remaining balance but did not realize that the gas station had not posted. By the time I did it was too late. I had to call my sister and have her put money in my PayPal account. Only about 15 minutes passed between the time I emptied the account and when I put the money back. Man I hope they did not try to take the money out in that 15 min!

That has happened to me before. I hate when some businesses don't take their money out right away. Fortunately (and sometimes unfortunately) mine is linked to my bank as well so that helps sometimes.

You are not an idiot. That is a very easy mistake for a person to make. I do not link mine to my bank account so I have to be extra careful.

I have mine linked to my bank, so I actually end up being extra extra careful when my bank balance is at 0/negative. If we get charged for something then, we get hit by a 35 dollar fee at my bank since it's PAYPAL and not a credit card.

It happens to me all the time too, you're definitely not an idiot. It's an easy mistake to make and I can't even count how often it happens to me.

That is why I do not link it to my bank. I am broke and if I do that it will cost me the fee from both sides, which I don't want. I like to pay for gas with cash and get a receipt.

Yeah me too coup. I have a benefit from Stop N Shop to use certain payment methods to get money off. It is safer for me.

Well, looks like everything is fine! They took the money out of my account. I was worried I was going to be arrested for stealing gas! The weird thing is that there is a mysterious dollar in my account. No record of it being put in or anything. I guess I just got a dollar richer.

Glad to hear that it worked out for you. I don't think they would have arrested you. They would just want their money. One time my sister drove away from the pump with the pump in her car. Ripped the pump right off and drove all the way home before she realized it. They didn't put her in jail, lol.

I have a PP account but I only use it for online stuff. This morning coming back from the vet I had to stop and get some gas, the gauge was yelling at me. Even with prices dropping a bit over the weekend $10.01 was the total and a little more than quarter tank, with gas @ 3.25/gal.
