Default If one of my cars were to have a collision

If one of my cars were to have a collision with another of my cars, how would insurance handle that? It hasn't happened, but I got wondering the other day when I was driving down a street that was half blocked, and when I got around, the first car coming the other way was my spouse.

That is a good question, assuming you are both on the same policy I am not sure what would happen. I bet it does happen though, so there must be a way that it can be covered.

I'm sure you would be covered, and I'm also quite sure your rate would sky rocket as well. Not a pretty picture!

Yeah, that's true. I didn't think about the premium going up. I guess if it was just a couple dents that I wouldn't bother reporting it or filing a claim.

I don't know either, I'm sure the insurance would go up on the next premium. I'm also sure that both cars would be covered - it should not matter who you hit or who hit you - it's covered.

You'd most certainly be covered... BUT - as mentioned, I'm sure as hell your rates would skyrocket. Remember a car is always covered no matter what.

Default Collision Claim

I will tell you exactly what will happen; the driver (assuming they are listed on your policy and you have full coverage) will be at fault and your deductible will apply to the repairs (under your collision coverage) of the vehicle that collided with your parked vehicle , if you have rental you would also be entitled to one if you choose. The parked vehicle would be repaired under your property damage coverage and not cost you anything out of pocket and technically the owner of this vehicle would be entitled to a rental vehicle also at no charge whether you have rental or not. Your policy would probably not increase unless you have a habit of filing claims, most insurance companies want to keep customers even at the cost to fix the mistakes by the those people. There is a saying in the insurance industry that says "we pay for stupidity", sorry but that's the truth.
