Default Irks me!

I carry the remote for the vehicle I drive most, but just a key for the other. It always irks me when I go to unlock the passenger side with my key, but there's no lock on that door!

That would irk me, too. Are they making cars without locks on the passenger door now? That just seems dumb, but is their reason for security? I don't really understand why it would be, since it's nothing to walk around the car to the driver's side.

This is my first time to hear about cars with no locks on the passenger side. I really haven't looked either. Perhaps that's why I haven't noticed.

But I think I see the rationale for it. It's for safety, of course. One guy would have to sit on the driver's seat before that door gets unlocked.

The only thing I can figure is that it is a security feature. Or else the designers had it in mind that whoever would be entering the vehicle would have a remote device with them.

Wow, I've never heard of that either. Of course, it's not something a person couldn't live without, because my passenger side door lock is broken, so I'm now used to unlocking all the door with the button if I need to get into the passenger side or back seat for whatever reason.

Hi Guy! I presume you can open it from the inside. They took out the lock from the outside as a security feature. But I don't see a lot of these kinds of cars. May I know the brand and model of the car that you are referring to?

I have never heard about it either, but I understand they have made it that way for security reasons. What if for some reason your remote was broken? Does it mean you wouldn't be able to open the passenger side door?
