Default Little notebook in the glove box

My Dad taught me to keep a notebook in the glove box to record maintenance and repairs. It has been a help when selling the vehicle, because the buyer knows the vehicle's history. Do you do this?

That's a good thing to do. It's much better than throwing the receipts in the glove box like I do. I'm going to try it, but I won't be surprised if I forget to write things down.

I usually add it in the cars manual. They typically have a place for maintenance records or notes. On a side note, I was always taught to save the window sticker. Not sure how much it helps, but it is a neat thing to have.

That record is a great thing to have. I haven't done it yet, but I would love to start the habit now. A record is good for personal reference. It is also something that we can discuss with any technician working on the car, without stretching our memory each time. Cool!

I have never thought about this before, but it really is a good idea. It helps you potential buyer to know the car's history, and helps you show him that you always take good care of your car.

A few years ago, we bought a 1987 Mercedes Benz from a man who kept this car in immaculate condition. Through almost 20 years, he kept every record and every receipt of maintenance and repair on that car. He actually had it imported straight from the manufactures in Germany and had every repair done at one shop that specialized in foreign cars. I was really impressed because I have never seen such perfectly detailed and preserved records on a car like that before.

This is one of a few things I keep in every auto we as a family and myself as a single one have done. Wipes help too for random spills and when you become a parent it comes in handy as well. So does air freshener (febreze) on long road trips.
