Default Maintaining your car in storms

I just moved to an area of the country where there are storms pretty often. What should I know about keeping my car running well with all these storms going on? Is there any extra maintenance?

What kind of storms? We have snow storms, wind storms, rain storms. In the wintertime when we have snow storms I make sure that I always have wiper fluid in the car and that the battery is new and charged.

Mostly we have rain storms and intense winds. I think there is some now but I'm not sure on that. I've just arrived here after all.
