Unfortunately I think we will definitely flirt with the $5.00 mark. We're getting so close already! I remember a few years back when it tipped the $5.00 line, I didn't drive anywhere. Keeping my fingers crossed something will change soon.
I can't even imagine this $5 per gallon you're speaking of. Unfortunately, I think we may see this and I really hope that it doesn't last long. When the cost of gas goes up everything else follows.
I've heard that the Democrats (specifically, Nancy Pelosi) have said that they want it to get to $5/gallon. And, really, they have no incentive NOT to, and much incentive TO raise it that high - since they get a *percentage* in taxes. The more we pay, the more they get.
I'm wondering where are all the news organizations complaining about gas prices like they where a few years ago. Either way, the supply is there, but the speculators are driving the prices up higher. In the end, the consumer will loose.
Ugh I hope not. I'm barely driving as it is now. I'm glad that I have the option to drive less, but I'd rather be out! These prices are insane, I refuse to pay it.
