Default Vintage ride: what if?

It's a long story, but I "once" owned a 1961 Fargo step-side short-box... it was factory-ordered by my greatgrandfather.

He said the short-box bit was "for haulin' chickens".

That truck sat beside the pumphouse at my grandparents place for years while a battle about who truly owned the truck was going on. I was promised that truck when I was 12, after I'd learned to drive the damned thing (three on the tree, and a grandfather that'd nail you in the shoulder if you blew a shift).

It's still beside the pumphouse, and well, I sure as hell ain't 12 or anywhere near that now.

I stop and wonder sometimes what would have happened if me and my Dad had stepped in and pushed for the ownership PROMISED me by the mans' widow... that ugly front-end would be one hell of a conversation piece today.

Anyone else got/had vintage wheels? Whatcha got??

The closest I had to vintage was a 1964 Travelall by International Harvester. If you don't know what a Travelall is, all I can say is look it up! It was a jalopy and ate a lot of gas and it was actually pretty ugly but...it was a fun ride.

My father and I have both always been fans of the classic bread and milk truck and hope to one day do a project on one together. As for what we have, I have a '65 Thunderbird with a 390 and he has a '64 Chevy fleet side with a 402.
