Default What's up with THAT?

As we came back to our car from some shopping, the alarm on the car next to us went off and a voice kept repeating "Step a-way from the car". What's up with THAT?

Ha, I bet it gave you a shock, right? I knew someone who had that kind of system but the kids kept setting it off just to hear the car 'speak'! Perhaps it is a bit more effective than the usual siren though.

Did you look around at that moment? Perhaps some crazy TV guys set that alarm off and video-taped your reaction. Expect a call from a TV station in a few days

LOL That maybe more effective but obviously more annoying. I can imagine how shocked you were when the alarm went off. How close were you to the car when it started yelling?

The first time I experienced hearing "the voice" I thought it was really freaky. It, like, puts you on the spot, and the worst part, of course, is that I wasn't doing anything wrong!

We were just doing normal stuff for getting into our car, and the other car was parked right next to ours. I was wishing our car had a button I could push that would make a voice say "Ease up, please. Ease up, please"..........!

That would really annoy me. Can't they make those things so they don't go off in parking lots just because the people in the car next to them are getting in or out?

That happened to us several years ago on vacation. We were walking down the sidewalk and a car was parked at the curb. As we passed it, it spoke exactly as you said. We made it a point to pass that way several times that evening.
