Default Would you buy an Android Car?

Forget the "Android" car. I just wanted to catch your attention.

A car manufacturer is trying to go high tech with its Wifi cars. When you get inside their new models your phone automatically hitches itself with the car's speaker and sound system, complete with voice recognition.

You can then receive or make calls or catch the latest tweet simply literally conversing with your car, which then takes care of dialing your phone or browsing the internet through your phone's browser. Does that make you feel like Agent 007?

Nothing surprises me anymore with what people's imaginations will come up with. It does sound cool, but I think I'll stick with what I have already and leave James Bond to you. :]

Ford already has something similar, although I don't think it can browse the internet. But it can place calls for you and find you radio stations based on your preference.

Right Hondaman. I was in fact referring to Ford. They want to be the first in the car manufacturing industry to shift from car manufacturing to mobile internet manufacturing.

You asked if they browse the internet? Yes, absolutely. But you must do it manually, not through voice recognition.

It isn't just Ford going in this direction, to be fair. But they're the first.

I'm not sure I'm ready for the 007 technology. I'm still using the old, featureless cell phones and don't own anything high-tech except for my computer.

That sounds like a cool car, though I am not a big fan of James Bond (I am a fan of Q instead). Can you also control the car remotely?

Hi Fanbelt, no you can't control the car remotely yet. That for the next generation of 007 wannabes But you can switch on the car remotely, or at least activate the push button engine starter remotely.

This is great for starting the car when you're in a hurry. The car engine's running by the time you sit down on the driver's seat. All you have to do is drive out.
