Default Auto Jammer Protest

Had anyone gotten wind of this before now? Apparently in India, people were planning a boycott of car usage online to protest excess fare and faulty meters. Online, it was an uproar with many participants, but now that the time has rolled around, commute has carried on as usual; no uptick in public transportation use, no "downtick" in traffic on the roads.

Guess they weren't as passionate as they thought.
