BURLINGAME, Calif., Jan. 3, 2011 -- Based on trends seen in its online marketplace data,
CarWoo! predicts that the
Toyota Camry will be the best selling car for 2011 for buyers shopping online. The
Ford Fusion is seen to generate the next most demand among online shoppers.
San Francisco based CarWoo! is an online service and marketplace through which dealers are connected with anonymous buyers, extend offers and sell vehicles. Buyers are charged a nominal fee to access this marketplace while access is free to dealers. Buyers receive multiple offers while retaining their privacy and dealers obtain referrals for buyers that fall outside of the traditional automotive lead system.
CarWoo! is unaffiliated with any manufacturer. These predictions are based on a detailed analysis of the trends seen through thousands of recent online offers provided to buyers by CarWoo! dealers across the country.
"These results would certainly seem to indicate that Toyota has recovered from any hangover generated by the recalls of 2010," say Peter Chiu, Vice President of Product Management for CarWoo!. "Ford also seems to be regaining its stature as a highly respected and innovative US manufacturer."
Chiu continues, "While not especially surprising, these results should help car buyers understand the supply-demand nature of the marketplace in which they are shopping."
According to Tommy McClung, CEO of CarWoo!, "The CarWoo! marketplace provides a rich source of real-time data about consumer and dealer behavior in the automotive marketplace. Our ability to analyze the data and derive important trends is a real asset to buyers, dealers and manufacturers. CarWoo! will continue to review our real-time data and expose the true state of the marketplace."
