Basically, they've redesigned the car door, so that instead of swinging outwards as they do, the one or two traditional doors on the side of a car is replaced with a single retractable door that opens and closes like a slide door. I've never seen it implemented, and didn't know it already existed until now. It was inevitable, though.

Amazing! I'd like one of those. I do hope they'd develop it for most car manufacturers. One time I mindlessly opened the door and it hit the next car. To make matters worse, the owners are walking back to their car and saw it all happened from the very beginning. I was horrified! Gladly the damage was so tiny it was almost invisible.

One of the worst things about leaving my car parked in a lot or near other cars is that I'm always worried someone will bang their car door into mine! A retractable door would definitely solve this problem.
