Default Hydrogen fuel for 19p a litre

This is good news. A British company has invented what they call "artificial petrol" using hydrogen which is a lot cheaper than oil. It would be great for the environment too because it doesn't produce carbon emission. Currently, they are suggesting the price to be at 19 pence per litre but might go up to 60 pence after tax inclusion.

I wonder if that is related to the technology of the Ballard Power Cell, which is a hydrogen-fuel technology...? A company in western Canada has been spear-heading that endeavor, but hasn't yet perfected things enough to sell vehicles so equipped to the consumer public.

This is an interesting news. I hope it's true. I have read others of similar tone. One is about hydronium (H3O) and the other is water itself. The latter makes use of a gadget that separate Hydrogen and Water in H2O, releases the oxygen and burns the hydrogen. I hope these are all true because H3O or H2O are highly renewable, unlike crude oil.

I read about it just recently and although it's doesn't seem to be a new invention I'm wondering why it would take five years more to finally make it ready for the market. By that time, I suppose the price will have gone up.

I think you're right, fiat500. If it takes 5 years for it to make it to market, the price will probably go up. It sounds good to have an alternative to gasoline, but I don't think the gas companies are going to take to having a cheap alternative.
