I thought this was a pretty interesting piece of news. Kelly Blue Book is being bought by Auto Trader. By the end of the year the deal will close and we will start to see changes being made. You can read and article about it here.
I always found the Blue Book prices were too generous for my taste. There are so many variables that will either lower or raise the value of the car it's just a sort of shot in the dark to find the price there. I have been to some car lots that hold to the Blue Book price as if it was gospel.
I would have to agree with Chandler, the old blue book prices were rather generous. So many things need to be taken into consideration, and I didn't find that was significantly demonstrated with that book. It will make a change for leasing companies as they often used the blue book to quote prices directly to their customers.
