rumor that won't die
I spent time working for Dodge in the early and mid 90's. I worked with and met some really serious car buffs, and heard a lot of really great tales.
One 'rumor', however, persists, and I'm so fed up that I'm asking anyone that can, help me lay it to rest!!
It involves FORD.... and the 351 Windsor engine. The Cleveland was the more common, and yet collectors want the Windsor: one's American, one's Canuck, but made by the same company.
Well, the rumor says that Ford has a bunch of the 351 Windsor's on pallets and under plastic wrap in a warehouse out near where the Oakville Plant used to be. It keeps resurfacing every time the RCMP in Canada purchase new highway interceptors, the rumors link the two and say that the new RCMP highway cars will be 351 Windsor powered with a new fuel injection system.
SAY WHAT?
OK, this has GOT to be an urban myth.... so PLEASE help me put it to rest.
