Default Why Isn't Ford Being Talked Up?

In the first nine months of 2010 Ford earned the most it's earned in the first nine months of any year since 1998. I think that's impressive! I wonder why that's not being talked up in the news??

Because new agencies like to talk about the bad things. Also they get a lot of flack when they talk up news like that because it makes us feel like the economy will get better, and then when it is not the news agency might seem less credible.

It seems Americans love a good crisis and all the heroics that go with it. I think Ford should be getting a lot more credit than it is for avoiding the car industry crisis like it has.

Bad news sell more advertisement as well as more newspapers. I am hoping the industry gets even better because my husband is a car carrier and things are too slow right now.

That's surprising, isn't it? I've visited Ford's newsroom lately and I didn't see any mention of it. Perhaps Ford itself is not making a hype out of it. Maybe Ford doesn't need to hype it up. After all, it no longer has any stiff competition.

They did not take any government money, so they do not need to justify making money like GM does.

Good point. Being in business myself, hypes on profits and sales are usually targeted to investors, not to customers.

How is General Motors doing? Does anyone know?
