Default Electric cars and performance

Getting an electric car is going to be a whole new ball game. A lot of the things I have learned about cars will fly right out the window. I am trying to fathom what things will change and what will stay the same. What are some performance issues that electric cars will have?

I was wondering the same thing myself and I discovered a new term, "Electo Automotive's" This is the term that is going to get you the best search results. If you want to help an electric car preform well then some of the factors to consider are curb weight, battery packs and voltage.

It seems like amenities such as air conditioning and radio are going to affect performance to some degree, also, as they will be running from the same battery, wouldn't they?

Yeah I would imagine they would. So that means you also have to take things like weather in to consideration. I wonder if there are ways to weatherize an electric car for the climate you live in to give it better performance.

Also, if you are like me, you want to do some of your car maintenance yourself. Will the fact that the car is electric make any difference to simple things like changing the oil and rotating the tires? The long trips I make into the southern United States, where it can be extremely hot, causes me to worry about the air conditioning too.

We will all have to get used to a lot of different things. I don't like that I'm not going to be able to work on my car if it's electric. Just think about going to an electrician and not a mechanic.
