Default How fast is fast?

OK, let's stop talking about Bugatti Veyron which can run at up to 267 mph. I just wonder how fast can you drive a car without losing control over it.

No idea, I've never tried nor would I. I've driven an Arial Atom at 120mpg on a track day, but a normal car I've not driven somewhere that I can take it fast-it's illegal, no way around it.

It depends on the car, and the design, literally.

I had an X1/9 that could do 150 mph, given the right road: the faster that car went, the more positive the steering, it sucked itself down to the road and handled like a dream. that little 1600cc engine would just SCREAM,too.

The Fiero GT.... was a PIG. Anything over 90 mph, and the steering would 'float': the front end would begin to rise and would cost me steerage and control as a result.

The Dodge Viper was an absolute TANK in the corners, and didn't even do well in a straightaway.

Every vehicle is different, and some are better than others: most of us will never see speeds over 100 mph, so it's moot with me.

Each driver is somewhat different and I know some people that have issues driving at freeway speeds if that gives you any idea. I know my truck is awesome when it comes to winter weather but just flying down the freeway I get a little wobble, then again its a truck not a sportscar too.

I think driving cars fast is a skill that takes practice, or most of us would be driving at Nascar.

I am not a fast driver, and 55 mph is my comfort speed. I don't feel envy but I hate it when another driver drives fast and overtakes me.
