Sometimes it's just a very short drive to the convenience store. So I wear slippers a lot of times while driving short distances. A friend of mine says I should stop doing that. Better to drive barefooted than with slippers on.

I think I saw his point, though I didn't think much about it. Was that sheer paranoia? or was that a valid safety advise?
I've never tried either way but it strikes me that slippers would provide no traction against the pedals. Wouldn't it be painful to drive barefoot? Just keep some comfy casuals by the door if you are looking for an easy transition from home to vehicle.
Well, to be honest I often wear slippers for short distance driving, but I will take off the slippers in the car and then drive barefooted. It's pretty comfortable and doesn't hurt at all.
Somehow I'm able to use the pedals with my slippers on without any problem at all . . . except when my feet are wet. In such a case, I step on the pedals with my bare feet.
Question is, are there traffic rules that prohibit slippers? Just wondering.
