Default Your Normal Driving Speed

I stick to 50mph as much as I can, although sometimes I go up to 60mph on a freeway. A lady friend drives much faster than I do. She likes overtaking other cars. Sometimes I think she is engaged in a wrong career. She should be in car racing.

I drive a little under the speed limit most times, except in bad weather. Then I drive a lot under the speed limit. Except when it's a really slow zone, like 35, then I go about 40. I can't really go that slow.

I generally stay pretty close to the maximum speed allowed on a particular road, so long as that is safe and appropriate. I have grown out of the need to overtake everything but going too slow can be hazardous to other drivers too.

As a general rule of thumb, I drive either at the speed limit or up to 5 miles over it. Weather and location factor in. Kids and dogs will always have me going slower.

Great point Angelinus. I myself almost slammed my car at the rear of a very slow moving car in a highway. One can be a menace to the driving public by being slow as much as by being too fast.

As a trucker, I cannot afford to be doing anything but the speed limit. I can't risk my driving record, and going faster or slower reflects badly on the trucking outfit.

Hi Guy! I understand. There are considerations in trucking service that go beyond fuel economy. You've got to deliver the goods as fast and as safely as you can.
