How can you remove adhesive from the paint of a car without damaging the paint itself? Someone put a sticker on, and I can't get it looking right.

There's a product called Goo Gone that would probably work well for you. It's readily available in most home improvement stores.

Acetone - the REAL stuff, not el-cheapo dollar store stuff.

It will take a little effort, but it melts the adhesive.

It also takes tree pitch off of fabric.

What is the risk though that the acetone would damage the clear coat of the car? I wouldn't want to risk damage to the car for the sake of adhesive removal.
