Default Airbag Failure

Our car always displays "Airbag Failure" in the small screen. We took it to the mechanic but wasn't fixed. We took it to Fiat service Centre and still not fixed. I'm praying we won't be in any accident.

Personally, I'd rather not have an airbag anyway. For one thing, they have been shown to *cause* injuries (they don't report that a lot in the media, though). Also, I wear glasses. An airbag deploying in my face at 200+mph is likely to not only break my glasses, but also to push shards of plastic and metal into my eyes and eye sockets and cheeks. No, thank you!

Is your car still under warranty? If so, let the dealership check it. Even if it's beyond warranty already, it shouldn't cost a lot to have that checked.

I've never been in an accident where the airbag deployed but I tell you what, if that were to happen, it would scare the crap out of me. If heard nothing but bad things about airbags and don't really trust them. As far as your airbag light, maybe it's just a failure of the airbag sensor.

The car is now 8 years old so no more warranty. Thank you, everyone, for the light you shed on this matter. At least now I will have peace of mind whenever that message flashes on the screen again.

Oh no, that is really odd. Do you know if the airbag will work? It could just be a short in the warning light. I would take it to the place you bought it and have them take a look.
