Default Brake problems

My Jeep Cherokee is having brake problems. About two weeks ago I had my rear brakes replaced. My passenger side rear brake came out in pieces and some was missing. A couple days ago, that same brake started making a dragging noise. We took the tire off and the brake is already paper thin and part of it has broken off. What would make this happen?

Check they caliper and see if it's out of adjustment. Also, are you sure the brake pad was OK? Some of them are defective when you get them but I'm sure they don't have wear marks on them.

Wow, that's scary. I never buy the cheapest brand brake pads for this exact reason. In this case I would think it has more to do with installation, did you do them yourself?

I did not install the brakes myself, a garage did. It ended up being defected brakes. I had them redone, free of charge. Everything seems to be working fine.

Wow, I don't know but that sounds pretty crazy. I would have thought that the garage that changed them would have looked at the calipers and the rotors to make sure they were ok before changing the brake pads.
