Default Brakes grinding

I know I need to change them, but when brakes are making a grinding noise, am I going to have to change more than the brake pads? What else do I need to get/do?

How old are they? It depends you see, it could be something as simple as having some debris underneath the pads. You'll have to have a look.

Thanks. I got them changed today, and the brake pad was *gone*. The metal that holds the pad was damaged. I'm glad I went ahead and got them changed! My son said it looked like a pickle with holes in it. LOL
