Default A/C Woes

Boy, is it hard to own an old car. I have had this problem before where when idling, the A/C stops working. It was fixed, but then it happened again this summer. First, because of the car's age, they had to put in a new R-something unit. That temporarily worked. Then it happened again, only not as bad, and it turned out the compressor had cracked into pieces. Ouch to my wallet. I sure hope the problem is fixed now. That's a $800 investment this summer that I wasn't counting on.

That really stinks Gomera. I am lucky that I haven't had to put any real big money into my care since I bought it in 2004. I am just waiting for something major to happen though.

Ouch! Yeah, all the older cars had to be updated because freon is now illegal or something like that. It stinks, though, to have it fall apart like that. My smaller car doesn't have a/c because I had to put a new engine in it, and it was apparently a different engine (even though I was clear about what car it was) and there's no compressor!

Ouch that hurts! I've never had an A/C go out. The only thing right now is that my A/C is making a loud noise sometimes while my car is idle, but once I give it gas it gets quiet again. The thing is still very cool, so I don't know if it is something that will go out. Good thing the cool season is coming and I won't have to use it much.

Isn't that weird that the A/C acting different when idling seems to indicate problems? This is probably the last time I will put money into the A/C for the car, though. I almost didn't do it this time, but it was a hot day. :}

I really hate having a monthly car payment. But if I had to pay more to keep an old car operating, I would have to strongly consider it.

With the weather most places have had this year, not having air conditioning is just the pits. Right now we have a different issue but we are without water in our office building. For some reason between about 11-noon the water just stopped and the water company has no idea why.

That sucks that you have had so much trouble with your A/C. I am glad that mine works in my car but my significant others doesn't work.

I can't afford a new car payment, so my old car will have to keep me going for a long time yet. The good thing, so to speak, is that I don't really drive it that much in the summer.
