Default Chain Garages

Do you take your car to garage chains? I find that the repair chains are just so expensive. I also feel like they expect their customers to be clueless and treat them as such. They are conveniently located though.

I agree with you, I think the customer service at the repair chains can be horrible. I'm not saying I know as much about cars as the employees there, but I don't see why they feel the need to make me feel stupid about it. You're right about the convenience of the chains though. In addition to being in good locations, they seem to have better operating hours. Sometimes I'm forced to go to one because that's the only place that's open.

I have not taken my vehicle to a chain garage in a long time. Between myself and some other people I have networked with I have been able to get everything done so much cheaper. Now if I could get my mother and sister to use the same people I do, but they are hooked on chain garages.

Nope, I never use any chain garage. Most of my work is done right in my garage or in my dads garage. If we can't fix it, it goes to a small garage up the road. I have been taken advantage of by Monroe Muffler one too many times.

About 8 months ago I took my car to a chain garage. I was quite impressed. I was expecting a long wait. I took it in for a regular check, like oil change, water, alignment and breaks. They even vacuumed out the car and cleaned the windows, which I was not expecting. I only waited about an hour. I was waiting for them to say I needed some work done that probably was not necessary, but they never did. Maybe it was just my lucky day.

There are very few chains we use only because we have a friend that runs his own garage and it was one that was passed down the family line. If it were not for Rog I would be paying out the wazoo for my stuff.
