I've seen companies advertising that they can repair the chip in your windscreen and stop it spreading. It will supposedly be good as new.

How do these repairs hold up?

Yes it works, but you have to get it repaired quickly, before it starts to spread. They use a kind of epoxy, and it can be very hard wearing and long lasting.

The key is to get it repaired ASAP. Once it starts to spread, they can't repair it and the windshield has to be replaced.

I have a small chip in the lower corner of my windshield. I am going to call a repair shop and get it epoxied. I will be sure to let you all know how it turns out.

I've used a repair service and found it to be very effective. It lasted well-in fact until I got another chip that cracked within minutes on the same journey, and I had to get the screen replaced.
