Default city law demands full service pumps

I just caught wind of a city in Canada that has a really unusual law: every gas station MUST have one 'full service' gas bay, it can't be fully self-serve.

The argument is as regards to protecting entry-level jobs, and preventing their loss.

I think that's a fab idea.... anyone else?

I'm not so sure. There is a gas station near us that doesn't even take money. You HAVE to pay on card, or on this store card you can get that debits your bank account.

The convenience is fantastic.

New Jersey it is illegal to pump your own gas. Every gas station is full service. It is almost funny to watch them when they come down and try and figure out how to fill up or wait for someone to fill up for them.

I kinda of like this really. What about when you have someone who has a disability that its harder for them to get out of the vehicle, pump, get back in? Or say its someone with another issue that could be easier to have someone do it for them? What about actual service like back in the old days?

Oh do I like the way you think, vroombaby.

It's the disabled question that came to mind for me, too, I mean my Dad drove until he was 85 or so, but getting in and out of the car wasn't that easy for the Old Coot, either. I'd hate to think that he'd have needed a helper or to drive further for gas to accommodate his situation!
