I need to make a duplicate of my car keys. I was told that I needed to get it done at the dealer. Is this true?

That's hogwash. I have 3 sets of keys to each of my vehicles, and I had them cut locally at a key store.

One set is for me, one set is for my hubby.... the third set hangs on the wall in the house: if it's below freezing out, MY set is used to start the vehicle up, and it's then LOCKED while it's running: that set inside the front door will be used to let myself back in again.... it's an anti-theft thing, a running vehicle is too tempting to some twits.
