Default Feels Like Broken Shock

Is there any way I can replace just one shock on a vehicle. Would it make it sit at different angles if I did or would I be better off replacing the whole set?

I would, at the very least, replace 1 whole set. Kind of like how you don't want to change just one tire. Either both front or both back at the same time.
