If you could see my face you would see a grimace. I just had to shell out money to replace the rotors and the brake pads on the old family car. It seems like a gravel got embedded into the brake pad on the right and it chewed up the rotor too. The rotor had already been turned so I just went ahead and replaced both sets. My budget took a hit but at least the car will stop nice and quiet and efficiently now.:cool:
Oh wow, that's horrible! I didn't realize that gravel could easily get up in there; I used to park in a gravel parking lot every day for work and never had that problem. :/
I didn't know that gravel could get up into the brake pads and rotors either. That is really odd. I'm glad you got it fixed, sorry it took a lot of money to do.
If you had been driving/braking for a while before the piece of gravel flicked up there then the pads would've been hot and fused to it. That sucks! It always happens to people who look after their cars aswell!
